Clyde H. Resh, 88, of Elyria passed away Thursday at EMH Healthcare in Elyria following a brief illness. He was born February 8, 1923 in Somerset County, PA. and was a Elyria resident since 1955. Clyde worked at Elyria Dairies for 32 years, retiring as a route salesman in 1985. He was a W.W. II Army veteran, a active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elyria, a member of V.F.W. Post 1079 in Elyria and the LaGrange Hunt Club. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and woodworking. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Edna (nee-Dixon); daughters, Ruby Jean Goetz of Marion, IN. and Kathryn Szemety of Cleveland; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Gene Resh of New York; He was preceded in death by 1 grandson, 1 great-grandson, sister, Evelyn Resh and a brother, Robert Resh. The family will receive friends Monday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. 440-322-4626. Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church 295 College Park Dr., Elyria. The Rev. Harrison Gapter and the Rev. William Burkett will co-officiate. V.F.W. Post 1079 will conduct full military honors at the church. Burial will be Wednesday at Casebeer Church Cemetery in Somerset, PA.. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
