Clyde Darrell Campbell 80, of Litchfield passed away Sunday November 5, 2017 at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center following a long illness. He was born May 18, 1937 in Leslie, West Virginia. Clyde served with in The United States Marine Corps. He was a partner in G.C. Construction; he owned several Mr. Hero's restaurants and Campbell's Buffet. Clyde was a member of Grace Community Church in Grafton. He was a gifted listener to others, and enjoyed music; both listening and playing, and many outdoor activities such as hunting, boating, and camping. Survivors include his loving wife of thirty eight years; Grace E. (nee: Walla), three daughters; Sylvia L. Campbell of Albuquerque, NM., Ruby H. Baker (Mark) of Yucaipa, CA, Debbie Lasky (Jim) of Elyria, three sons; Dairl G. Campbell (Felicia) of Copley, Eric W. Campbell (Rhonda) of Grafton, Jim V. Zack (Lynn) of Elyria, additional survivors include thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a sister; Eloise Meager of Seville, and a brother; George E. Campbell (Barbara) of Medina. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; George E. and Ruby Mae (nee: Nutter) Campbell, and a sister; Annie Starcher. The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM and 5-7 PM Monday November 13, 2017 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where funeral services will be at 7:00 PM Monday immediately following visitation. Pastor Jim Thornton of Grace Community Church in Grafton will officiate.
