Clifford J. Trexler, 83, of Elyria passed away Monday July 25, 2016 at his home following a brief illness. He was born September 6, 1932 in Lilly, PA. and was an Elyria resident for most of his life. Cliff was employed as a machine operator at the General Motors Corporation in Parma for 25 years, retiring in 1997. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton and the V.F.W. Post 1079 in Elyria. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Barbara (nee-Horten); daughters, Lee Trexler and Terry (Russ) Borkowski; grandchildren, Adam (Sarah), Kyle, Luke and Cole; 3 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday July 29, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church 708 Erie St., Grafton. The Rev. Fr. John P. Seabold, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, where members of the V.F.W. Post 1079 will conduct full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria.
