Christian J. Skodny, age 21, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly on March 27, 2023. Christian was born on February 20, 2002 in Westlake, OH. He was a joint graduate of Great Valley High School in Malvern, PA and the Technical College High School with Honors in Engineering and Industrial Technologies. He represented the TCHS graduating class at a National Leadership Convention. Most recently, he was studying college level accounting while supporting himself, working at Davey Tree Company. Known for his willingness to help and a kind smile, he excelled in many areas of life. He was an Eagle Scout from Willistown Troop 78 in Malvern, PA where he served in a leadership role as Senior Patrol Leader and served his community through volunteer projects. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, camping, mountain biking, and traveling. Since graduation he undertook several coast-to-coast driving trips, camping and exploring nature along the way, he was drawn to the beauty of the Arizona Mesas and the California sunshine. He loved Los Angeles and spending time with his family. Survivors include his father, Paul (Kristie); mother, Jackie (Ray) Lambert; brother, Cameron; paternal grandmother, Helen Skodny; and many additional loved family members. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Timothy (Marie) Hodge; and great-grandmother, Phyllis Hirleman. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 4-7 PM at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria (440) 322-4626 where funeral services will start 6:30 PM. Pastors Gilbert Silva and Mark Hebebrand from House of Praise will officiate. A private burial will be held at LaPorte Cemetery at a later date.
