Charlie L. Moore, 85, of LaGrange Township passed away Tuesday February 12, 2013 at EMH Healthcare following a brief illness. He was born March 16, 1927 in Newton, TN. And was a LaGrange area resident since 1950. Charlie worked at the former General Motors Fisher Guide Plant in Elyria for 31 years, retiring in 1981. He bowled in leagues at the Brunswick Bowling Lanes on Center Ridge Rd. in North Ridgeville and enjoyed traveling and collecting coins. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Virginia (nee-Layne); daughter, Carole (Will) Layne of LaGrange; sons, Charles (Marilyn) Moore of Sumter, SC., and Jerry (Karen) Moore of Grafton; grandchildren, Steve Moore and Christina Layne; 2 great-grandchildren, Brooke and Kalyn Moore;sisters, Berta Jackson of Dalton, GA., Carolyn VanWinkle and Bonnie VanWinkle both of Spencer, TN.. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruby Stewart and Ruthie Morrison and brothers, George "Alex", William, Jimmy, and Doyle Moore. The family will receive friends Friday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.(at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Chuck Behrens, Chaplain of the Hospice of the Western Reserve will Officiate. Burial will be at Rockwood Cemetery, LaGrange Twp..
