Obituary

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have Everlasting Life" John 3:16. Charles M. Taylor Sr., 88, went home to be with the Lord on May 22, 2011 following a short illness. He was born August 16, 1922 in Michigan and moved to Bloomington, IN. at the age of 2 years old. He had resided in LaGrange for 50 years. Charlie was employed by Larson Foundry in Grafton for many years. He also owned and operated a Sohio gas station in North Ridgeville. Charlie was a member of the First Baptist Church of LaGrange where he had held the office of Trustee. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Donna (nee-Glessner); He was the loving father of 5 sons and their wives, Ron (Duretha) of Normantown, WV., Charles Jr. (Darlene) of Glendale, AZ., John (Darlene) of LaGrange, Richard (Sue) of Grafton, and Jim (Brenda) of Elyria. He was also the loving grandfather of 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Charlie was also survived by 3 step-children; Sheila & James Lancaster of Ft. Myers, FL., David & Sharon Franzke of Corsicana, TX., and Carol & Jerry Kuba of Wellington. He is also survived by 11 step-grandchildren, 18 step-great-grandchildren and 2 step great-great grandchildren. Charlie will be sadly missed by his family and many, many friends. Charlie was preceded in death by his first wife , Wilda, to whom he had been married to for 51 years, parents, Oscar & Effie Taylor, 3 brothers, Donald, Oscar & Howard and his grandson, Timothy Taylor on March 15, 2011. Friends and Family may call 2:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday May 25, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of LaGrange 200 Church St., LaGrange. Funeral Services will be held at the church on Thursday May 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.. The Rev. Noel Hack, pastor, will Officiate. Burial will be at River Road Cemetery, LaGrange. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Center of St. Joseph, 3700 Kolbe Rd. Lorain, OH. 44053. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your thoughts and prayers and for helping them celebrate Charlie's life.
