Charles "Charlie" Kramar, 91, of Elyria passed away Tuesday May 21, 2013 at EMH Healthcare following a brief illness. He was born December 10, 1921 in Berno, Czech Republic, and was a Elyria resident since 1951. Charlie worked as a tool and die maker at the former General Motors Fisher Guide Plant in Elyria for 27 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria and the former Elyria Y.M.C.A.. He was a avid scuba diver and was a member of the Bay Area Divers. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Eva (nee-Keresztes; daughter, Shirley Beatty of Elizabeth City, NC.; son, Tony Kramar of Columbus, NJ.; grandchildren, Christian, David, Russell, and Evelyn; great-granddaughter, Isla. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ludmila Sykora. The family will receive friends Friday 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Closing prayers will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agnes Church 611 Lake Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Albert Veigas, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at Ridgehill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.. Memorial contributions can be made to the church.
