Charles D. "Don" Scallon, 75, of Grafton passed away Monday February 24, 2014 at his home following a brief illness. He was born October 7, 1938 in Elkins, WV. And was a Grafton resident for most of his life. Don worked for the Federal Aviation Administration in Oberlin as a computer specialist for 45 years, retiring in 2002. He was a United States Navy veteran, a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton and enjoyed golfing, reading, working with computers and spending time having coffee with the boys at the Grafton McDonalds. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Bonnie (nee-Lacy); son, Michael Scallon of Cleveland; sister, Suzanne (Paul) Sturpe of Terrell, NC. And many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Patrick Scallon in 1997. The family will receive friends on Friday February 28 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the gathering area of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 708 Erie St., Grafton. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m.. The Rev. John P. Seabold, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private. In liue, of flowers memorial contributions can be made to New Life Hospice 3700 Kolbe Rd. Lorain, OH. 44053 or to the Our Lady Queen of Peace Building Fund.
