Charles E. "Chuck" Hoover, 49, of Elyria passed away Thursday March 31, 2011 at EMH Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born June 1, 1961 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Chuck worked as a assembler at the Murray Ridge Workshop in Elyria for 30 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria and bowled in the Murray Ridge Ridgerunners bowling league. He participated in the Special Olympics and was a avid Cleveland Cavaliers basketball and Cleveland Indians baseball fan. Survivors include his mother, Connie (nee-Kline) with whom he made his home; brothers, Kevin (Patricia) of Haines City, FL., James (Cynthia), Thomas (Lee Ann), and Daniel Hoover all of Elyria, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence "Lou" Hoover in 2009 and a brother Justin Hoover in 1972. The family will receive friends Monday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Closing prayers will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery Elyria. In lieu flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary Endowment Fund or to the Murray Ridge Center 1091 Infirmary Rd. Elyria.
