Celia Madeline Noster (nee Ursanic), 98, of Elyria passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 following a lengthy illness. She was born on June 8, 1921 to John and Mandaline Ursanic in Lorain, OH. Moving to Penfield, OH. Where she grew up and graduated in 1940 from Penfield School. She worked at the Cleveland Bomber Plant in Cleveland, while she attended Fenn College (CSU) to study airline components. She then transferred to Luke Air Force base in Arizona and worked inspecting military aircraft until the war ended in 1945. Celia was employed by Sears for more than twenty years as an invoice clerk. She belonged to Sears 1310 Retirees. She was a lifetime and active member of VFW post # 1079 Auxillary and served many years as patriotic instructor. She also belonged to St. Mary Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. In the 50's and 60's she was active with the Ohio Child Conservation League and served as president of Lorain County Federation of the Eastlake District of CCL. Celia had a great love of music, played several instruments and belonged to Elyria Musical Arts Society and the Elyria Concert Association in the 60's Celia loved traveling and cruising. She is survived by daughter Gayle (Mark) Lugas and four grandsons, Matthew, Geoffrey, Grant and Jack. Brother, Anthony and a sister Catherine of New Mexico, and beloved caregiver Stephanie Bowen and her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank of 50 years and two sisters Anna Noster and Jeanette Dumont. Family will receive friends in the Weigand Room at St. Mary Church from 10AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Monday, December 16, 2019. Rev, Fr. Charles Diedrick pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial at St. Mary Cemetery (Elyria). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Ave. Elyria, Ohio 44035.
