Catherine E. Persensky, (nee-Donahue), 92, of Elyria passed away Saturday November 28, 2020 following a brief illness. She was born December 19, 1927 in Grafton and was a lifelong Lorain County resident. Catherine was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria and enjoyed playing cards, reading and doing word search puzzles. Survivors include her daughters, Jeanne (Ronald) Majerowski and Mary Kay (Tom) Mayock; son, Thomas (Kathleen) Persensky; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Plas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene in 1994. The family would like to give special Thanks to Pat Carney and Paulette Hatcher for their loving care. The family will receive friends Saturday December 5, 2020 in the Gathering area of St. Jude Church 590 Poplar St., Elyria from 12:00 p.m. until the time of a 12:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the Sanctuary of the Church. The Rev. Frank P. Kosem will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria.
