Catherine Rosella "Kay" Elbert, (nee-Fisher), 91, of Vermilion and formerly of Berlin Heights and Elyria passed away Wednesday August 27, 2014 at Kingston of Vermilion following a brief illness. She was born February 23, 1923 in Wilkinburg, PA. and was a Elyria resident for 62 years until moving to Berlin Heights in 2002. Kay was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria and attended St. Peter Catholic Church in Huron. Mrs. Elbert enjoyed reading, travel excursions, playing cards and bingo. Survivors include her daughters, Susan Medina of Berlin Heights and Roberta "Robin" Alheit of Elyria; son, Robert J. Elbert Jr. of Elyria; daughter-in-law, Christine Cousino Elbert of Fort White, FL.; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert J. Elbert Sr. in 2003, son, James Henry Elbert, parents, Henry and Agnes (nee-Mower); sisters, Margaret Fisher, Agnes Goehring, Henrietta Lord, Margaret "Peg" Lauffer, Anna Mae Myers, Frances R. Peters, and Louise Dorothy Klass; brothers, Francis William Fisher and James Henry Fisher. The family will receive friends on Tuesday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 384765 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Closing prayers will be Wednesday September 3, 2014 in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Fr.
