Carrolee S. Bauer, (nee-Schafer), 83, of Elyria passed away Sunday November 25, 2012 at the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness. She was born May 30, 1929 in Barnesville, OH. And was a Elyria resident for most of her life. Carrolee was a teacher with the Elyria Public School System for 40 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Elyria and the First Church Women's Club. She and her late husband Fritz were also 50 year members of the Y.W.C.A. Mr. and Mrs. Club. Survivors include her daughters, Christine (Keith) Nine of Akron and Amy Bauer of Elyria; grandchildren, Ryan Bauer, Sarah (Christopher) Davis and Rebecca Nine (husband, Sean Ansted); great-granddaughter, Addison Davis; sisters, Linda Jones of Concord, OH., Donna Hagedorn of Baltimore, OH., and Beverly Lynch of Grandville, OH.; brother, Edwin Schafer of Dublin, OH.. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Frederick O. "Fritz" Bauer on August 17, 2012 and a brother, Marvin Schafer in 1987. The family will receive friends on Thursday November 29, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ 330 Second St., Elyria. The Rev. Christina Kukuk, pastor, will Officiate. Burial will be private.
