With heavy hearts after a short illness, Carolyn B. Oster (nee: Rhodes), age 91, went to be with our lord Jesus Christ. She was loved by all who knew her. "Carol" as known by her family was born to the late Louis and Beatrice Rhodes (nee: Stubbe) in Cleveland, Ohio on July 31, 1931. She was a 1949 graduate of West Tech in Cleveland, OH. In her younger days she enjoyed playing tennis, fishing, and dancing with her friends. Carol was blessed with a loving family. She married James R. Oster and was married for 61 years before his passing in 2012. They enjoyed playing cards, dancing and going to see their favorite band "Alex & John." During their marriage her and James had 2 loving sons Jeffrey and James. Both Carol and James carried on their love for children by being deeply involved in Cub Scouts with their boys. James created and ran Elyria's Safety Town for many years and Carolyn worked hard behind the scenes on jobs to help make sure the children were taken care of. Carolyn had a love for cooking and baking and always made sure no one ever went hungry. She was always proud of her garden and her flowers in her yard. In later years she loved watching the Cleveland Indians, out working crafts shows with her son Jeff, playing solitaire, working crossword puzzles, and she would never miss an episode of Judge Judy, Wheel of Fortune, or Jeopardy.
