Carolyn M. Rebeles, 92, of Elyria passed away Monday at the Life Care Center of Elyria following a brief illness. She was born February 29, 1920 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Carolyn worked in the material control department at the former Bendix-Westinghouse Corp. in Elyria, retiring after 30 years of service. She enjoyed traveling the world, sewing, and playing the piano. Many of her friends did not realize that she had celebrated 23 leap year birthdays. Survivors include her sisters, Rose Rebeles and Helen Benford both of Elyria; 2 nieces, Karolin Benford and Jennie Benford-Shandley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Karolin Rebeles and brothers, Julius and Victor Rebeles. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Christian Burial Services at 11:00 a.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
