Carolyn J. Ayotte (nee: Sumpter) (formerly Belknap) 80, of Elyria, Ohio passed away Monday June 17, 2019 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center following a short illness. She was born July 12, 1938 in Normantown, WV. Carolyn was a 1957 Elyria High School graduate. She was a woman of strong faith, and enjoyed spending time with her family, playing the piano and listening to gospel music. Survivors include two sons; Randy Belknap (Sharon) of LaGrange, Rick Belknap (Dianne) of Grafton. Additional survivors include four grandsons; Nickolas, Joel, Aaron, Dillon, her first husband; Denver Belknap, and two step daughters; Toy Hogan and Lynn Ayotte. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband; Joseph Ayotte, her parents; Gaylord and Alta (nee: Moore) Sumpter, two sisters; Geraldine Castner, Norma Ronez, and a brother; Robert Sumpter.
