Carole A. Lenzer

Carole A. Lenzer (née Stana), 79, of Grafton, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 19, 2026. She was born on April 27, 1947, in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, to Stephen and Josephine (née Skavinski).

Carole was raised on a family farm in Pennsylvania, surrounded by a large extended family. It was here that she developed an appreciation for the outdoors, a strong work ethic, and the love and support of a large family. Later, she moved to northeast Ohio, where she married and raised four children, all while balancing a career in cosmetology and real estate. Carole was goal-driven and eventually started her own business as a real estate appraiser, enjoying her work until her recent illness.

She was deeply loved and took great pride in her children and grandchildren, especially enjoying holidays and special occasions with them. An avid gardener, Carole spent many hours tending to her flower, herb, and vegetable gardens while enjoying the wildlife around her. She often created bouquets and flower arrangements from her garden to share with others. In the summertime, she loved to snip herbs and vegetables to incorporate into her meals. Carole will be remembered for her creativity, determination, and the lasting connections she made throughout her life and career.

Carole is survived by her daughters, Inga (Don) Longwell and Ericka (Darrell) Smith; her sons, Jim (Cherrie Tang) Lenzer Jr. and Dale Lenzer; her siblings, Sandra and Stephen; her grandchildren, Patrick, Timothy, Allison, Sophia, Audrey, and Erin; her great-grandchildren, Tristan, Alaiyah, and Parker; her niece, Allynn (Marty) Kanieski; her great-niece, Dagmar Chapin; her dear friend, Helen; and her beloved pup-pup, Mya.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from noon until the time of service at 3 p.m. at Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, located at 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria. A private burial will take place in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania.
