Obituary

Carol M. Kocsis, daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Horvath), passed into Heavenly rest on June 21st after dealing with long-term medical issues. Carol, 83, was born and lived in Elyria most of her life. She attended Elyria Catholic and Oberlin Business School before working 35 years in the dietary department at Elyria Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed bowling and travel in her youth, with needlework, quilting and collecting recipes filling her later years. Carol also enjoyed watching all of the Cleveland sports teams. She was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Elyria, belonging to the Altar and Rosary Society and served on the church council. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity in caring for her parents, her willingness to stitch a gift for any member of her extended family and her love of family gatherings. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth. She is survived by her supportive family including her brother, Richard (Beth), nephews Matthew (Sandra) and Paul (LeAnne) and niece Melissa Frabotta, great nephews, Josh (Alexia), Eli, Christian, Seth, Luke and great niece, Tara and many extended family and friends. The family thanks the staff of Keystone Pointe for caring for Carol in her final months. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM Tuesday, July 9, 2024 in the Weigand Room until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Avenue, Elyria, OH. (Please meet at the church.) The Reverend Father Charles T. Diedrick, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria.
