Carol Ann Hillyard (nee: Schoonover) 74, of Elyria passed away Tuesday June 26, 2012 at St. John Westshore Hospital in Westlake following a long illness. She was born September 3, 1937 in Belington, WV. Carol was a Licensed Practical Nurse who graduated from M.B. Johnson School of Nursing in Elyria. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. Carol treasured spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Cleveland sports teams, travel and gardening. Survivors include her husband of fifty eight years; Fax L. Jr., three daughters; Pamela S. Jorgensen of Elyria, Sheila K. Canfield (Pastor Rick) of Sutton, WV, Jennifer A. Lyczkowski (Ryan) of Elyria. Additional survivors include twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a brother; Gerald Schoonover (Shirley) of Warren, Oh. Carol was preceded in death by a son; Douglas Hillyard, a granddaughter; Rebecca, a great grandson; Jeremy, her parents; Stuart and Dessie (nee: England) Schoonover, a sister; Joan Everson, and a brother; Glenn Schoonover. Pastor Rick Canfield will officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria.
