Carol A. Dumski, 57, of Elyria passed away Friday March 23, 2012 at the Lifecare Center of Elyria following a one year battle with metastatic melanoma. She was born January 3, 1955 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Carol attended St. Mary Grade School, was a 1973 Elyria Catholic High School graduate and was a graduate of Elyria School of Cosmetology. She was employed for 22 years in the radiology department at EMH Healthcare, 15 years at Michael's craft stores, was a Longaberger basket consultant and was most recently employed at Walgreen's for the past 10 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria, the Elyria United Polish Club, the American Legion Post 12, AMVETS Post 32, and V.F.W. Post 1079 Ladies Auxilliaries. Carol loved the music of Jim Brickman, reading, shopping, photography and spending time with her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews. Survivors include her mother, Frances "Bette" Dumski of Elyria; brothers, Larry (Helen) Dumski of Rocky River, Tom (Lori) Dumski and Jim (Lisa) Dumski both of Elyria; sister, Nancy Hicks of Vermilion; 3 nieces and 3 nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Thaddeus "Ted" Dumski in 2004. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Weigand Room at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. A 11:00 a.m. Memorial Mass will follow. The Rev. Charles Diedrick, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary School Endowment Fund 320 Middle Ave., Elyria or the Elyria Catholic High School Endowment fund 725 Gulf Rd., Elyria.
