Carl E. Shephard Jr., 86, of Elyria passed away Tuesday at his home following a sudden illness. He was born September 5, 1925 in Grafton and was a lifelong Elyria area resident. Carl retired as a Electrical Inspector for the City of Olmsted Falls, served with the United States Navy during W.W.II, was a member of V.F.W. Post 1079 in Elyria and was the former owner of the Elyria Go-Cart Park. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Joan (nee-Garford); daughter, Cheryl Westbrook of Elyria; son, Carl E. (Brenda) Shephard III of Strongsville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Gayle Tabor of LaGrange; He was preceded in death by sisters, Carol Renner and Elaine Smith.
