C. Keith Johnson, 86, of Vermilion went to be with the Lord and his late wife Bertie on Sunday September 10, 2017. Keith grew up in North Ridgeville where he gained the nickname "Bigun" as he was a star player on the 7 man football team. Keith also set a record for Shotput that stood unbroken for 20 years in Lorain County! At one time in the 1960's Keith was the city Auditor of North Ridgeville. He went on to work with his father at the W.K. Johnson Insurance Agency in Elyria, retiring in the late 1980's. Keith was also the "Captain" of his beloved "Green Shorts Camp" in Plainfield, OH. Green Shorts is a unique piece of Heaven that many friends and family hunted and fished from. Keith loved the outdoors from day one, an avid duck and deer hunter and just a great sportsman. He and his wife Bertie of 62 years loved to travel and live by the water, either Lake Erie or the Gulf of Mexico. Keith is preceded in death by his wife Alberta (nee-Plas), and brothers, Kenneth and Dwight Johnson. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Townsend (Ramon); sons, Denny (Debbie Carr) and David (Theresa Riddle); granddaughters, Jennifer, Erika and Stephanie (soon to be married!!) and Sherri and Michael Townsend along with several great-grandkids.
