Bradley A. Rea, 63, of Elyria, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at O'Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville after a long and courageous illness. He was born in Elyria on March 15, 1961 and grew up in the Metropolitan Detroit area. After attending high school he worked as a retail manager and then later in life, he worked as a carpenter, renovating rental properties. Bradley enjoyed NASCAR, and always cheered for Jimmy Johnson. He also enjoyed ATV / four- wheeling, and practicing shade tree mechanics. Brad was also very fond of dogs and his favorite was Sierra. Those who knew him will miss his gentle soul and sense of humor. Survivors include his mother, Patricia A. Rea-Longbrake (nee: Smith); daughter, Rachel Rea; brother, Jeffery (Barbara) Rea; granddaughters, Liliana, Isabella, Elisecia; aunt, Cheryl Keiper; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Otto Rea, in October 1984. Family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 6 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria. Pastor Delisa Buckingham-Taylor from the Community of Faith United Church of Christ will officiate. A private burial at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst will take place at a later date.
