Bobby J. Johnson

Bobby Joe Johnson, 83, of Elyria, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Life Care Center of Elyria. Bobby was born in Glenville, West Virginia on October 22, 1942 to parents Clarence Edward and Mary Flossie (nee: Dent). He dedicated 28 years of his career to Abex before retiring. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time at the bowling alley, where he was an accomplished bowler and proudly bowled several perfect 300 games. He also had a great passion for WWE wrestling and never missed the opportunity to cheer on his favorite wrestlers. Bobby will be remembered for the many interests he enjoyed and the memories he created with those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Becky Schuster, Johnny Kimble, Mike Kimble, Gary Kimble, Teresa Robinson, Randy Johnson, Brian Johnson, Rusty Johnson, several great nieces and nephews, and special friends, Elizabeth “Liz” Biggerstaff and Wesley “Wes” Kinter. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife with whom he was married 37 years, Alpha Johnson (nee: Lay); sisters, Marge Kimble, Judy Yeo; brothers, James and Bill Johnson.

Graveside service will be held at noon on Friday, September 4, 2026 at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon. Please meet at cemetery. Jerry Smith will officiate.
