Bobby Carol Barker, 84, of Grafton passed away Friday May 3, 2024 at University Hospitals Main Campus in Cleveland. He was a loving husband and devoted Dad(dy). Bobby enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He worked at the Ford Engine Plant, retiring after 40 years. Bobby served in the United States Army and was a life member of AMVETS Post 32 and the American Legion Post 12. He was preceded in death by his father, Okey Barker, mother, Virginia Shaffer and his younger brother, Eddie Barker. Survivors include his wife Phyllis (nee-Fisher); children, Christine Mountain, Annette (Torre) Fitzpatrick, Rod Fox, Traci (Shawn) Schmitt and Staci (Joe) Gaughan; 12 ornery grandchildren and 21 precious great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday May 14, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, where members of AMVETS Post 32 will conduct full military honors. A celebration of life gathering at AMVETS Post 32 will follow the committal. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you plant a tree in Bobby's memory.
