Billy Dean Downing, 95, beloved husband, father and friend, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 27, 2025.

Born on January 25, 1930 in Hedley TX, he lived the authentic cowboy life on a ranch. He loved to tell his many stories of those early years riding horses, rounding up cattle and living life before electricity and running water. He lived a full life with a sense of adventure from driving for Air Products, to cross country road trip vacations with his family to full time RV travel with his wife Lois after retirement. Bill was a kind, sweet soul who was always looking for a project to work on, loved reading, watching NASCAR racing and most of all being with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter Lynn Downing of Elyria, sons Dean (Tami) Downing of Twinsburg and Bill (Lori) Downing of Lakewood Ranch FL, brother Dennis Downing of Amarillo TX, six grandchildren Jordan Eichenlaub, Cole (Macy) Eichenlaub, Hannah Eichenlaub, Adrienne (Carsson) Gilgenbach, Bethany (Jared) Woughter, John (Geralynne) Downing and twogreat grandsons Cooper Woughter and Garrett Gilgenbach. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Lois Anne (Jordan) Downing, his mother Vera Gladys (Malone) Downing and his sister Joy (Downing) McCrummen. Family will have a small private celebration of life. They wish to thank Affinity Hospice for the outstanding end of life care.
