Betty "Elizabeth" Schneider 84 of Elyria passed away Monday May 19,2014 at Life Care Center of Westlake after a lengthy illness. Betty was born April 16,1930 in Cleveland . She worked for Gearcoa Co. until her retirement. She was a longtime member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Betty enjoyed Camping , Traveling , and watching sports. Survivors include sisters Eileen Yakubics of Elyria , and Jean Chambers of Garfield Hts., niece Eileen (Walter ) Stokowski of Elyria and many other nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Matilda (nee Buehner) , sisters Bernice Karasek , and Lucille Kretz , brothers Michael, Edward, William, Leonard and Thomas and life-time friend Sally Wiseman. Family will receive friends 4-7 PM Thursday May 22,2014 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57) , Elyria 440-322-4626.
