Betty Ann Marsh (nee Byall) 83, of Elyria passed away at home on May 22, 2015. Betty was born in Lakewood, Ohio August 15, 1931 to the late Boyd and Ann (nee Taylor Byall.Betty graduated from Lakewood High School in 1949, and Ohio Wesleyan University in 1953 with a degree in fine arts, she was a member of the tri-delta sorority and remained an active alum. In 1955 she married Dr. General C. Marsh at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Lakewood, Ohio. General lovingly referred to Betty as his bride throughout almost 60 years of marriage. Betty worked as an artist for the former Halle brothers department store in Cleveland, Ohio and Lazarus department store in Columbus, Ohio. She used her creative talents throughout her life to bring joy to others with her painting , photography , needlework and crafts. Betty was a volunteer at Elyria Memorial Hospital and with her husband , they traveled extensively spending winters in Phoenix, Arizona and enjoying summers at their lake home on Pickerel Lake in Michigan. Betty had many hobbies throughout her life. She was a speed skater in high school , enjoyed sailing , swimming , boating , tennis and attended car shows across the country. She loved pets Particulary Shetland Sheepdog's. Survivors include her husband Dr. General C. Marsh of Elyria , sons Steven A of Elyria , Dr. Dale H. (Dr. Caroline) of Brecksville , daughter Wendy S. (Douglas) Chaser of Phoenix, Arizona , sister Alice Scott of Westlake , grandchildren Maria , Dale Junior , James and Caroline of Brecksville and nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents Boyd and Ann , brother Robert T. Byall of Rocky River.
