Betty J. Hughes

Betty J. Hughes (nee: Clark) 98, of Elyria passed away Tuesday September 8, 2026 at O‘Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville. She was born December 31, 1927 in Waynesburg, PA. Betty was a devoted and faithful member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church where she helped with numerous church and parish school ministries. She treasured spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her children; Melody Zimmerman (Tom), Linda Patti, Cindy Tanner (Gene), Barry Shriver, Charles Orndoff (Nancy). Additional survivors include her grandchildren; Carl Gray (Melissa), Tracey Zweifel (Curt), Tina Hayes (Tom), Tanya Keller (The late John), Tammy Dean (the late Matt), Christopher Patti, Eric Patti, Taylor Patti, Paul Orndoff (Casey), William Hughes (Crystal), Thomas Tanner, Shelby Fernandez (John), Brian Zimmerman, sixteen great grandchildren, and sixteen great great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husband; William, her children; Sally Gray, Sherry Hughes, Tammy Gray, James Hughes, a sister; Ethel Horr, a brother; Johnny Clark, and her parents; John and Mary (nee: Connor) Clark. The family will receive friends from 1-4 PM Sunday September 13, 2026 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria (440)322-4626. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Monday September 14, 2026 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church 41295 N. Ridge Rd. Elyria, Ohio 44035 where The Reverend Father Neil G.
