Betty L. Goad

Betty L. Goad, 85, of Elyria, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, June 25, 2026. Born on October 25, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Kermit Webb and Eula (Gregory) Webb. She graduated from Bedford High School with the Class of 1958 and was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

Betty lived a life defined by service, leadership, and unwavering dedication to both her family and her community. For more than 40 years, she was the welcoming face of the family-owned business, Elyria Concrete Step, working alongside her family and becoming a familiar presence at the Lorain County Fair.

Her passion for serving others extended well beyond the family business. She volunteered at the University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center Gift Shop and served on the Women’s Auxiliary Board. She was also actively involved in numerous community organizations, including the North Coast Building Industry Association, where she served as president of the Women’s Auxiliary.

Among her many accomplishments, she was especially proud of her leadership within the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). She served as president of the Lorain County chapter before being elected as regional director, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues throughout the organization.

Through the years, Betty and her husband Everett created wonderful memories of travels, adventures and get-togethers with their close-knit group of neighbors and friends—a good time was always had. She also treasured the lifelong friendships she shared with her beloved “Golden Girls,” a special group of women who celebrated life’s joys together and supported one another through every season.

Above all, her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Everett G. Goad of Elyria; her children, Carrin (Jeff) Andress of Huron, Gary (Tami) Goad of Grafton, Tom (Crystal) Goad of LaGrange, and Laura (James) Miller of Amherst. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren: Brett (Julie) Andress, Bryan (Gwen) Andress, Bailey Andress, Makenna Goad, Sam Goad, Jason (Carina) Goad, Amanda (Stephen) Campanella, Ashton Hoeptner, Bailey (Misha) Gruzmarg, Natalie (Joe) Phillips, Sydney Miller, Cooper Miller, and Sawyer Miller, and 11 great-grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as Mimi or Mamoo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Eula Webb, and her beloved great-grandson, Ben.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life during visitation on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the funeral home. Pastor Rick Keesee will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria.
