Betty M. Eberling (nee: Pitts) 92, of Wellington passed away Friday March 31, 2017 at the Elms Retirement Village in Wellington. She was born October 8, 1924 in North Ridgeville. Betty was a dairy farmer for many years and was a long standing member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wellington. She enjoyed gardening, spending winters in Zephyrhills, FL, bowling, playing bingo, the Cleveland Indians as well as all sports. Betty played for the Cleveland Erin-Brew, the first ladies professional fast-pitch softball team, throughout her high school years traveling as far as Canada. She thoroughly loved life enjoying all of her family and friends. Survivors include two daughters Deborah Kazmierczak (Paul) and Connie Keck (Ron), son Charles Eberling (Conni), five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 2002, infant granddaughter Nichole, parents Charles and Olga (Cichy) Pitts, brother Thomas Pitts and four sisters Arlene Krucinski, Clara Jane Linden, Olga Diedrick, and Dorothy Boreski. Private family funeral services were held at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home of Elyria, Ohio. The Reverend Father David R. Trask, Pastor of St. Patrick Church in Wellington, officiated. Burial was in St. Peter Cemetery in North Ridgeville. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date and contributions in Betty's memory can be sent to St. Patrick's Charitable Outreach, 512 North Main Street, Wellington, OH 44090.
