Betty J. Burnworth (nee Welsh) 94 of Elyria passed away Tuesday September 1, 2015 following a lengthy illness at her residence with her family by her side. She was born October 17, 1920 in East McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Betty worked for Bendix Westinghouse for 36 years until her retirement. She was past president of the Women's group and a very active member at Community United Methodist Church. Survivors include daughter Sharon Pickens of Elyria , son John Charles of Elyria , 6 grandchildren , 9 great-grandchildren , 1 great-great grandchild , brother Jim of Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene "Bernie" in 1983 , parents Benjamin Franklin and Nell (nee Mackey), son Howard , 1 sister and 3 brothers.
