Bertha G. Sooy (nee Gerling), 98, of LaGrange passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange following a lengthy illness. She was born September 26, 1920 in Chicago, IL. Bertha was a general manager for Barris- Gueren & Co. midway plaza, she also owned and operated B&L Ent. And Midway printing. Bertha was a member of LaGrange Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, crossword puzzles, traveling , and a great love of animals. Survivors include her sons M. Jeffrey Earl of Twin Falls, ID., Kenneth L. (Jan) Sooy of LaGrange, Keith L. (Pat) Sooy of Medina, Thomas E. (Trish) Sooy of New Port Richey, FL.; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence A., Sooy; daughter Phyllis (James) Webb; sister Margaret; brothers Allen R. Jr., Ralph R. parents Allen R. Sr. and Theresa Gerling (nee Korup).
