Bernard D. "Bernie" Pompiley 83, of North Ridgeville passed away at home on Friday September 22, 2017 following a brief battle with a rare cancer. He was born March 17, 1934 in Cleveland, OH., and graduated from John Marshall High School. Bernie served in the U.S. Army, and had worked as a rocket engineer at NASA. He was a model train collector and dealer. Bernie was also a fishing charter captain for many years. Survivors include his wife; Mary Ann DeCarlo (nee: Geiger) Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Wednesday September 27, 2017 at St. Jude Church 590 Poplar St. Elyria, OH 44035 where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of Mass at 11:00 AM.
