Barbara Lee Pluta (nee: Smith, formerly Stawicki) 82, of LaGrange Twp. passed away at home on Sunday June 29, 2025 following a long illness.  She was born November 12, 1942 in Elyria. Barb had worked as an xray technician for Elyria Memorial Hospital and Dr. Bedocs. She was a member of St. Agnes Church, The Elyria United Polish Club, Elyria Eagles, Life member of VFW Okeechobee, FL., and treasured spending time with her family and friends.  Survivors include her husband; Robert J. Pluta of LaGrange Twp., daughters; Lisa A. Mercer (Bill) of Oberlin, Theresa Hartman of Elyria, Margaret Smith (Rick) of Wellington, Roberta Galant of Elyria, sons; Earl E. Stawicki (Darese) of Lake Forrest, CA., James M. Stawicki (Mary) of Elyria, Eric A. Stawicki (Lisa) of Foothill Ranch, CA., Anthony Pluta  (Shelli) of Wellington, Raymond Pluta (Angie) of South Amherst. Barb was preceded in death by her first husband; Edmund J. Stawicki, a son; Christopher Stawicki (DeeAnn). And her parents; Earl Emerson and Arlene (nee: Casper) Smith.  The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Wednesday July 2, 2025 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria (440)322-4626.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday July 3, 2025 at St. Agnes Church 611 Lake Ave. Elyria where The Reverend Father Charles Ryba will be the Celebrant. Please meet at church. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions in Barb's memory be sent to St. Jude Children Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
