Barbara M. Sayers, (nee-Carman), 78, of Elyria passed away Monday June 17, 2013 at the Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake following a brief illness. She was born June 18, 1934 in Cleveland and was a Elyria resident for most of her life. Barbara worked as a computer specialist at the Reynolds and Reynolds Corporation in Parma for 20 years, retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Sugar Ridge Baptist Church in North Ridgeville and the Order of Eastern Star, Lindon Chapter in LaGrange. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, sewing, and camping. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Willard; daughters, Sharon (Tom) Booth of Elyria and Susan (David) Herb of Oberlin; sons, Don (Colleen) Sayers of Elyria and Bill (Kim) Sayers of Sheffield Village; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Dee) Carman of Elyria. The family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Michael Manosky will Officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
