Barbara Ann Jantz, 80, of Grafton, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, November 20, 2022 at her home surrounded by her children.  Barb was born on May 23, 1942 to parents Leonard and Helen (Tran) Bruhn in Grafton, Ohio.  Barb was a retired teacher in the Midview School District.  She spent her entire career teaching elementary aged children, mostly second grade.  Her commitment in the classroom began in 1962 at Brush Elementary School.  Her first class had 41 kids, no desks or chairs, only rug squares to start.  She thrived in her "love for the little ones."  As Barb and her husband Ron began their own family, she took 12 years off from teaching to raise her four children.  She returned to teaching in 1977, eventually moving to Grafton Elementary School and retired in 2004.  Barb was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Grafton where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was a member of both the Ladies Aid and Altar Guild.  She most recently attended Grace Lutheran Church. Barb is survived by her children, Tammi McLean, Ron Jantz Jr. (Stacy), Michelle Krusinski (Dave) and Creg Jantz (Anita); her sister Cheryl Vail (Wayne) and her grandchildren Briana (JD), Justin (Alyssa), Riley, Julia, Caroline, Aidan, Maggie, Aneil, Carissa and David. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ron Sr.; sister, Diana (Dicie) Bruhn; her mother Helen Tran and her father Leonard Bruhn. A Celebration of Life will be at Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626 on Friday, November 25, 2022 at 9 AM – 12PM. Funeral service will be held at Grafton United Methodist Church, 973 Mechanic St. Grafton, OH 44044 on Friday, November 25, 2022 at 1 PM with Pastor Robert Spaulding officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Nesbett Cemetery in Grafton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests making a donation in Barb's name to the Grafton-Midview Public Library, 983 Main Street, Grafton, OH 44044.
