Arthur D. Gula, 65, of Elyria passed away Jan 15, 2026 from an apparent heart attack He was born Nov. 3, 1960 in Elyria and was a 1979 Graduate of Midview High School, where he played basketball, baseball, and golf. He also attended L.C.C.C & W. KY. University for business courses. He formally worked at Invacare corp. as a designer and Diamond Products as a tool and dye maker retiring in 2025. He also worked as a golf pro at Columbia Hills C.C. and Spring Valley C.C. to earn his PGA status card. He started golfing at an early age and caddied at Elyria C.C. as a teenager and played in leagues at Cherry Ridge and Forest Hills in Elyria. In his later years he became a bird hunter and in his earlier years enjoyed fishing with his father. Survivors include his daughter Harmony Colangelo; Granddaughters Emaleigh, Audrey, and Charlotte; parents, Arthur R. Gula and Patricia Gula (Kovacs) ; sister, Karen( Kester “Kim”) Samples Jr. ; niece, Jacqueline (Robert) Fletcher; nephew Jonathan Samples ; great-nephew, Rowan Fletcher. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Gula and his beloved dogs, Toby & Maggie. Family will receive friends Sunday April 26, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 5:00pm at Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery at a later date.
