Arthur J. Atherton 87 of N. Ridgeville passed away following a lengthy illness at his residence with his family by his side. He was born October 9, 1927 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Arthur was a 1945 graduate of Abington High School in Philadelphia, Pa., and a 1951 graduate of Brown University. He served his Country in the United States Army . Arthur was a member of Ducks Unlimited , League of Ohio Sportsmen and an Alumni of Delta Phi Fraternity at Brown University. Survivors include daughters Kim (Chuck) Andrews of N. Ridgeville , Robin (Dan) Ericksen of Viola, Wisconsin , son Arthur Jr. (Mary Margaret) of Avon Lake , grandchildren Jennifer , Jordan , Geoffrey , Katherine , and Colin. Great-grandchild Archer. Sisters Barbara (Howard) Conrad of Clark Summit, Pa. , Susan Atherton of Norwalk, Connecticut , brother Bicknell (Amy) of Leesburg, Fla., sister-in-law Anne of Atlanta,Georgia . He was preceded in death by his parents Dudley R. and Mae (nee Coleman) , brother Dudley Jr..Private family services will be held at a later date in Scranton,Pa.
