Obituary

Arline Mary Rader (nee Patyak), 86, of Elyria passed away peacefully at home following a lengthy illness Monday, March 14, 2022. She was born February 28, 1936 in Elyria and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Elyria Catholic High School and was their first homecoming queen, she went to receive an associates degree in art from LCCC. Arline worked at Haserodt and Associates, a library assistant for the Elyria City Schools, as well as performing secretarial duties for her husband's business. She enjoyed coaching CYO volleyball, tennis, gardening, art, sewing, garage sales, traveling the USA (especially the National Parks) and Europe. Arline was her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's biggest fan and cheerleader in all of their activities. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Lynn; children, Jeffrey L. Rader, Karen Rader Ritz (Christopher), Dean H. Rader, Jane Thomasson (Thomas), Scott Rader (Robin); grandchildren, Parker Rader (Hyejin), Anysse Norick (Sterling), Matthew Rader (Pamela Reed), Jodi Rader, Amy Rader, Cory Thomasson (Kelsey), Erin Spangler (Jesse), Anne Calton (Luke), Gabriel Ritz, Genevieve Gillespie (David), Elizabeth Ritz, Spencer Rader, Sawyer Rader, and Kelsey Mohrmon-Rader; great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Trustin, Credence, Emma and Maylee Norick, Jocelynn and Elena Spangler, Randy and Taylor Sees, Encelidus and Proxima Reed Rader, Asun Moon Rader, and Miriam Gillespie. She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Lola Patyak (nee Darmos; great-granddaughter, Esther. Family will receive friends 10 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM Friday, March 18, 2022 at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave. Elyria, OH 44035 ( in the Weigand Room- Rosary Service at 11:00 AM). Reverend Father Charles T. Diedrick will be the Celebrant. Burial Private. In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial contributions in Arline's name to be made to St. Mary's Church Endowment Fund.
