Arlene B. Sherman (nee: Reese) 76, of Elyria passed away Thursday January 9, 2025 at her home.  She was born August 5, 1948 in Berea.  Arlene had worked as a teacher's aide with disadvantaged children; she enjoyed cooking and animals' especially cats. She was a member of St. Jude Church.  Survivors include her husband of forty seven; Larry, two daughters; Eileen M. Sherman of Elyria, and Jennifer A. Sherman of Lorain, additional survivors include; two sisters; Mary and Linda Reese.  Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; Stanley Lewis and Dorothy Gertrude (nee: Latko) Reese. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Thursday January 16, 2024 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria (440)322-4626 where closing prayers will be recited at 10:00 AM on Friday.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Friday January 17, 2025 at St. Jude Church 590 Poplar St. Elyria. The Reverend Father Joseph Scalco CSJ, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
