Arlene A. Austin, (nee-Lottman), 94, of LaGrange passed away Saturday September 3, 2016 at her home following a brief illness. She was born June 5, 1922 in Elyria and was a LaGrange resident for most of her life. Arlene worked in the deli department and also as a cashier at the Grafton Sparkle Market retiring in 1987. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Eaton Township, where she was also a member of the Ladies Aid Society. Arlene was the oldest volunteer for the Lorain County Metro Parks and was a recipient of the Volunteer of the year award. Survivors include her daughters, Gayle (Paul) Frabotta of Grafton, Patti Austin of LaGrange, Sandra Austin of Wellington and Cindy Austin of Elyria; son, Gary Austin of Lakeside, CA.; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Millie Karpinski of LaGrange; brother, Donald Lottman of LaGrange. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving "Ozzie" Austin in 1981, a great-grandchild, sisters, Dorothy Culler, Agnes Baldauf, Edna Sooy and Erna Gotro, bothers, Richard and Howard Lottman. The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 p.m. Friday September 9, 2016 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services and Burial will be private.
