Anne J. Prentice (nee Malick) 96 of Grafton passed away Thursday June 23, 2016 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born February 26 , 1920 in Elyria, Oh. Anne graduated from Elyria High School. She worked at General Industries and was a cook at Midview Local Schools for many years. Anne enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends , playing yahtzee , watching the Cleveland Indians , bowling and especially loved her family. She Was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church , and belonged to the Faicom and Tawasi clubs. Survivors include her daughter Kathy Matheson of Grafton , grandchildren Kevin Matheson , Gregory (Erin) Matheson , Jeff Prentice , Mark Prentice, brother Joe of Elyria, daughter-in-law Rita Prentice , and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Leland H. Prentice Sr. parents George and Mary (nee Wilczek) , son Leland H. Jr., sisters Rose Malick , Julie Browand , brothers Stanley and Eddie. Family would like to thank Anne's caregivers Lois , Elaine , Kathy and Allie for their special care and love for Anne. Family will receive friends 4-7 PM Monday June 27, 2016 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626 , where services will be held 2 PM Tuesday. Rev. Dr. Janet Long pastor of Washington Avenue Christian Church will officiate.
