Anna J. Smith, (nee-Komocar), 88, of Elyria passed away Thursday at the Lifecare Center of Elyria following a long illness. She was born June 16, 1924 in Cleveland and was a Elyria resident for most of her life. Anna was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria and enjoyed gardening, polka music and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Smith of Elyria; sons, David Smith and Richard (Donna) Smith both of Elyria and Dale (Carlene) Smith of Litchfield; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Smith in 2002, sisters, Francis Kocsis and Mary Conti and a brother, John Komocar. The family will receive friends Monday 4:00- 7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev Fr. John Vrana will Officiate. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Twp..
