Anna Helen Monske

Anna H. Monske (née Rice), age 73, passed away peacefully in the early hours of June 5, 2026, at UH Elyria Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 16, 1953, in Elyria, Ohio, Anna was the daughter of the late Melvin Rice and Catherine Rice (née Nolan).

A lifelong resident of Elyria, she graduated from Elyria Catholic High School in 1971. She went on to complete her Medical Assistant training at Lorain County Community College in 1973 and began her career at Elyria Memorial Hospital. She was a Medical Assistant and Medical Secretary for 35 years under the guidance of Dr. Patel and Dr. Reyes.

Anna cherished her family and friendships and enjoyed staying connected with loved ones through Facebook. She was known for remembering birthdays, anniversaries, sending Christmas cards, and making others feel special. She cherished traveling with her family and held a deep appreciation for Irish traditions. She found joy in cooking, baking, and hosting family gatherings, but nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her beloved grandchildren, Dylan and Faith. Whether playing games or creating arts and crafts together, those moments were among her most treasured.

Anna is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Conrad Monske; her daughter, Michelle (Tim) Breehne; her son, Will (Danielle) Monske; her cherished grandchildren, Dylan Breehne and Faith Monske; and her brother, Bob (Cathy) Rice.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Catherine Rice, and her brother, William “Bill” Rice.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria on Friday, June 19, at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St Jude Church at 590 Poplar St Elyria, OH 44035 or to St Jude School at 594 Poplar St Elyria, OH 44035.

Anna's kindness, thoughtfulness, and love for her family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
