Anna Katz, (nee-Bance), 90, of Elyria passed away Wednesday May 20, 2020 at the Life Care Center of Elyria following a long illness. She was born March 4, 1930 in Romania and was an Elyria resident for most of her life. Anna, along with her late husband, Eugen were the co-owners of both the Katz Bakery and the New York Deli.She also was a member of the Elyria Congregation of Jehovah's Witness and worked as a donut maker at the former Meyer Goldberg grocery store chain. She loved gardening and cooking and faith and her family were paramount in her life. Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" (Dan) Weaver of Fruitland, FL. And Delia (Peter) Costin of Avon; grandchildren, Aaron (Suzy) Weaver, Jenna (Ken) Charleston and Christopher and Andrea Costin; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Cecily Weaver, Spencer Charleston and Lathan Charleston. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Eugen in 2008 and 4 brothers. Private graveside services will be held at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
