Anissa T. Vandersommen, 20, of Elyria passed away Friday May 5, 2017 at UH Elyria Medical Center. She was born October 14, 1996 in Cleveland and lived in Elyria for most of her life. Anissa attended the Church of the Open Door, and enjoyed doing artwork and writing poetry and was an animal lover. Survivors include her mother, Vonda Kirkpatrick; sisters, Savannah Bowers, Samantha Mareno, Elizabeth Jones, Alexis Plavic-Coon, Breanna Plavic and Cierria Plavic; brothers, Jordan Vandersommen, Daniel Jones, Timothy Jones and David Plavic; grandmothers, Lillian Vandersommen and Kathy Piquet. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of a Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday May 20, 2017 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Specialists 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Pastor Bob Wickens of Church of the Open Door will Officiate. Burial will be private.
