Angie worked at Green Acres Children's Home in Oberlin as House Mother where she mentored, guided and created a safe place for many kids. Some of those kids became her "adopted children" who all lovingly call her mom. Angie then transitioned to Lorain County Children Services from November 26, 1990 to February18, 2013 working as a Case Aide. She was elected to Union Chairperson and Negotiator for 20+ years, and served as UAW Local 2192 President and Vice President in the early to mid 2000. Angie Founded the Children Services Culture Diversity Committee and facilitated many trainings. Angie also served on El Centro Board of Directors from 2005 to 2012. She became the Chair of the Board immediately and her leadership was the foundation and drive for El Centro acquisition of the empty building on the corner of Pearl and 28th Street and the Capital Campaign for renovation. El Centro's successful capital campaign allowed the move to the 2800 Pearl Ave. It was all during her leadership as the Chair of the Board. Angie was the Liaison for the Hispanic community and continued to worked closely with El Centro. Angie was awarded the distinguished Hispanic Ohioan award by the CHLA in 2006.
