Andrew (Andy) Michael Tomcko, age 92, originally from Elyria, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home on February 9, 2022. He was surrounded by his children who were his caregivers. Andrew was born at Elyria Memorial Hospital on March 16, 1929 in Elyria where he spent most of his life. After proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army from 1947-1950, he worked as a Journeyman Maintenance Painter for Ford Motor Company for over 34 years. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing the harmonica, golf, hunting and gun collecting. Later in life, he discovered country western square dancing. He was a member of several square dance clubs where he met a number of people who became cherished friends. He was a member of the Grafton V.F.W. 3341. Andrew will be dearly missed by his daughters; Barbarajean (Richard)Starn, Marybeth (Joseph) Casey, Andrea (Robert Pietro) Adoniand sons; Thomas (Shirley) Bathory, John Tomcko, 9 grandchildren 15 great grand children. He is predeceased by his wife; Eugenia "Gena", brothers; Jack, Joe, and Steven Tomcko, sisters, Susan, Mary and Anne "Honey"and son-in-laws; Richard Starn and Joseph Casey. A celebration of life will be held at Finwood Estates on February 26th 2022 between the hours of 1:30pm and 4:30 pm. A private burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Avon.
