Andrew J. "Andy" Marchand, age 43, of Kipton, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at UH Grace Hospital Parma from complications of ALS. Andy was born on May 7, 1980 to parents Steve and Joanne (nee: Wasik) in Canton, Ohio. He was a graduate of Firelands High School and later worked as a machinist at Contour Tool, Inc. Andy had a passion for music, and was a bass player for the band, Caiata. He loved to cook and enjoyed loving on his grandson, Magnus. During his favorite time of year, which was Halloween, he could be found decorating his house for the spooky festivities. Those who knew him will remember him by his profound sarcasm. Survivors include his father Steve (Robbie); his mother Joanne (Mark); brothers, Daniel (Julie), Steven (Bobbi); step-son, Vlad (Sara); grandson Magnus.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Equio in 2020; paternal grandparents, Jim and Pearl Marchand; maternal grandparents, Joe and Margaret Wasik. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Rt. 57) Elyria, OH 44035. Andy's brother, Pastor Steven Marchand, will officiate a brief service beginning at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
